100 worms is aproximately 1/10th pound and is a good amount for a small kitchen composting pail. 1000 worms is a good start for a garden composting pile. We don’t count them individually, but estimate enough so you usually get extra. They eat their body weight in scraps every two days, and multiply quickly.
