Red Bird of Paradise (Caesal Pulcherrima)
Native to the Carribean, but naturlized throughout the Southern US. A favorite xeriscaping plant here in Arizona. Not only are its flowers glorious, but its leaves are delicate and ferny.
In frost free areas it will become a small tree. Top hardy to 30 degrees. It will often re-grow in the spring from its roots here in zone 8.
For sale are plants 3 to 5 inches tall in 2″ pots.
