This is a cross between paperwhites and a yellow species of fall blooming narcissus. It produces a profusion of pale yellow flowers flowers (picture is representative, not exact). Since it is not officailly registered, the hybridizer is calling it aw-pc 27. The number 27 in the number of bulbs it had multiplied into when he discovered it. The bulb had apparently been tossed into a rubish heap accidentally but somehow managed to thrive were other bubs would not have survived. It can be forced indoors like a standard Paperwhite. When grown outdoors Tazettas are some of the first Narcissus to bloom every autumn. It is a great naturalizer's in zones 8-10. Large bulbs are not machine sorted, but I would estimate most of them are 16+ cm in circumferance. |
