The Nepal Lily - a rare species from the Himalayas. Unique coloration of greenish- yellow with a mahogany-red throat. Spreads by stolons. If you can find these anywhere else, they will be much more expensive. Prefers part shade in the border for its roots. In the south plant in a cool shady spot. These bulbs are ~10 cm around bulbs (not as large as some lilies, but full size). They are probably not as hardy as other Lilies, but I could be wrong--Himalayan plants can be suprisingly cold hardy. In any case I would recommend protecting from hard freezing with a thick layer of leaves. |
