Also called Vallota Speciosa and Scarborough Lily, this beautifull Amaryllis relative is native to the cape province of South Africa. I have been unable to get these for about a decade. They are out of commecial production. Since the most common color for this species is red, I assume these are red. These bulbs are small, round and about 1 cm across (not side chips). They could bloom after a good growing season or two. Can be grown outside in zones 9+, or brought inside for the winter in colder areas. Plant shallowly in well drained soil. |
