This is another beauty originally from South Africa. They are hardy in zones 8-11 (7 with mulch and good drainage) and can be grown in a pot elsewhere. Prefers partial shade but they will flourish even in heavy shade.

The spectacular flowerhead is a huge spherical umbel consisting of up to 200 brilliant red starry flowers, with a lacy appearance that are held clear of the foliage at the end of a solitary stem. The flowers last about 1 to 2 weeks and make superb cut flowers!

I saw this plant potted up at Home Depot the other day for $40.
