Hedychium Flavum has slightly grey green leaves. The flowers are a large creamy yellow color produced from a cone like spike. They have spicy citrus flower scent so powerful that it can remain in a house all day. If the fragrance is too strong in a confined space remove all but one inflorescence. Good as a cut flower.
It is a hardy for a ginger but any frost will kill the foliage. The rhizome will remain healthy to zone 8. Move inside for winter in colder areas.
