Description
Brunsvigia Josephinae
Named after Napolean’s wife, Josephine, this is a huge winter growing species from South Africa. The bulbs can be the size of a child’s head. What we have for sale is blooming size, but may have already bloomed this year. I am holding an example bulb, but size will vary somewhat. We will dig one upon purchase. Flowers range from dark red to pinkish red, with some veining. They can take nearly a decade to grow this size. Bill stopped selling these in 2009 so he could re-build his stock, but we now have enough to share a few.
